Welcome to FM Sings.  My name is FM Pratt - more often known simply as FM.  I have 32 years of Singing behind me.

I started Singing from the age of four, partly at Nursery School and partly because most of my family (apart from my Husband, Colin, and my late father) can sing.  I had a Great-Aunt from my grandmother’s side, who was a professional Singer and performed regularly at the Wexford (Eire) Festivals.  My maternal grandfather was a bass-baritone and used to perform in the famous ‘Gang Shows’, which was part of the Scouts.  So it was inevitable that the singing got handed down the generations.

I was 17 years old when I started training in 1990.  I had private tuition given by a professional singer and she taught me everything there is to know about singing.  The first thing she taught me was how to breathe properly.  Under her expert guidance, I achieved my Grade 3 and Grade 4 Singing Exams.

Later, I was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, a form of Autism.  This was in 1998.  It made me realise that I had a gift for singing, and this is why I have finally turned professional and set up my own company. In 2021, I came out as a transman and I changed my name from Frances-Mary to FM, as this is what most people called me anyway.
